Anyone has an experience 3rd at 5000 rpm slips? The engine still raving to the red line while the auto tranny lack of power (the car sloq down to 0).
Them the on board computer shows GEAR sign. After stop engine for a while, restart again the car runs fine. If you drive hard on 3rd it happens again.

My mechanic told me to change a whole auto tranny which cost me around $10,000++, any advise to go to check at another point which may cost me less.

With the listed efforts you've already put into the motor, it would be a good time to consider a S6S 420G 6-speed transmission swap which would run you $6500$8000 ( in the los angeles area ) which includes a used euro spec tranny, ecu, evo3, custom mounts for the cross member, lightened flywheel, kevlar clutch, driveshaft, 3.46 rear diff, slave cylinder, hybrid e46/e60 shifter kit.

The dealer said to me that it's not free for modified car like mine.

I would have to agree since they can argue that the transmission wasn't setup for the stress of an ESS Supercharger, modified engine, etc. You may possibly try to get SOME money from BMW but I doubt they'd do a full pay-out.

Rebuilt transmission off bmwparts.com is about $6,400. Install would probably run you $2,000 to $2,500. I'm just guessing that part btw.

My best advice is to trade it in for another car. You saved atleast $4K for repairs.

They wont know it. be sure to post the vin after the trade.

Find yourself an auto specialist and get a diagnostic check done, chances are you could do with a gearbox service and possibly you have a failing torque convertor, If thats the case you are probably looking at about $2000 tops
