Just noticed that leaking lubricant at the base of the manual sunshade on the rear 3/4 window.

Anyone has experienced this. I've been just wiping it off. Should I bring it into the dealer to have it checked out?

Sure, let the dealer fix it.

My rear DS one keeps leaking. I'm waiting for the oil to run out (old Land Rover trick). The PS one is fine. Never had this on either E39 or E53's sun shades. If it keeps happening on the next dealer visit I'll have them look into it.

No leaks, just rattles over bumps.

The hotter the outside temp gets, the more oil that comes out on mine. Definitely one for the dealer.

I spoke to my dealer and they said if you complain of rattles they lube the mechanism to minimize them. The more lube they put on could result in dust buildup or lube stains. I have elected to listen to the rattle. Would not get them again, my kids never liked them up anyway.

I jst noticed that mine are doing this as well. It has been VERY hot here so that is probably the cause.
