Is there any way of adjusting the auto headlights "on" treshold? It seems that auto-headlights function is way too sensitive on my car.
Thanks

your dealer can do it for you - simple tell them that the lights dont work properly and you want the sensitivy adjusted.

When I set my knob to the auto position my headlights are on all the time, even in bright arizona sunshine... Does that mean that my car is configured with the DRL-on option or does it mean something is wrong?

This is an old issue.

BMW has never managed to get the auto headlights function to work well on E60.

After my last CIP u/g things got slightly better, but still can't cope with alternating shadows and bright sunshine. At the end it keeps the light permanently on as if I had DRL switched on.

Since my last upgrade I have daytime running lights as an option, can't remember where it is exactly but it is in the light settings via I drive. It can be ticked or unticked. When selected it does mean the lights are on all of the time when in auto position ( but off when key is removed, that is all that differs from leaving the lights on all of the time via the usual light setting ! )

OK, I guess that means I do have DRL set to "on"... it does not appear to be a owner option in the US (as has been discussed in other threads). It seems to be working just as it should.

Thanks, Jon.
