I'm getting v15.x SW installed this week and I wanted to get the automatic headlight sensitivity adjusted while it's in the workshop.

Looking at older threads there are 3 settings and the naming is the opposite of what you would think. (The sensitivity refers to the sensitivity to light rather than to darkness.)

1- Normal (Seems to equal always-on)
2- Sensitive
3- Very Sensitive (waits longer to come on and turns off earlier)

For those that have had this adjustment done - which setting have you gone for ?

I am tempted to go for Very Sensitive but I wanted see what others have found to work.

Last SW update I had them set my headlights to very sensitive asd it seems to be working just fine. It is much better then having my lights come on at 2o in the afternoon

Mine was improperly set to "normal" after I requested them to be more sensitive. It's clear that the tech got confused with the naming and set it to normal then noted on the order that it was set to the "lowest" setting -- thinking he was giving me the setting I wanted. I think I need "very sensitive" since the current "normal" setting turns the lights on in broad daylight.

Next time the car goes in, I'll be more specific....

I believe the factory setting is "Sensitive". I leave it at that since I don't use the auto headlight feature believe it or not. At night I move it to the auto position so I can get my adaptive xenons to move, and in the day, if conditions are such that I need lights on, I move the switch to manual. I don't need the adaptive feature in the daytime. The reason I do this is because I found that the adaptive - no matter what setting, is too erratic at times. I prefer predictability.

I've had it changed from sensitive to very sensitive, but it didn't make much difference. It works ok when overcast, but the sensor struggles in direct sunlight.

Since it's a LIGHT detector, not a DARKNESS detector, very sensitive will cause the lights to go on later, in darker conditions.

Oh ok.

Ya I dont leave it on the auto position either. I just turn them off when parking the car and turn them to auto when it gets dark enough. I like control too.

My lights are in the factory setting....

And they come on at about 3:50 PM on a sunny Florida day.

It's retarded.
