But then the active headlights (turning sensitive) don't function.? I really don't care if they are on during the day.? I see many DRLs on the road.? Its only safer.

Anyone know what the "life" expectancy for the Xenon's is estimated to be? My point being if we run them all day long due to this sensitivity glitch....eventually it will contribute to an early replacement. That would suck- because I am under the impression that they are quite costly. Same thing goes for the adaptive feature, eventually they will wear out or break(I'm Guessing however). Could be wrong though - I truly have no idea what the cost factor is- or the overall reliability of the entire system. My E60 is my first car that has Xenons and that is adaptive. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

If anybody cares, my lights work flawlessly. I run them in automatic mode most of the time except for the few occasions when I run with just angel eyes. They come on when it is cloudy and rainy and before sunset. After good sunrise, they go off. Since I don't leave my keys in the car (afraid someone could get in the garage and take off with it) I don't have the problems that Rudy has with automatic setting.
I like the lights as they are. They work like they are supposed to. I have no idea what the dealer setting is.

After following a couple of members out after one of our meets I decided to ditch the auto function and go with manual. It was a beautiful sunny day and both cars would turn the lights on and off every time they drove through the shadows on the road. I watched their lights cycle on and off 6 times in a half a mile. Just looks kinda silly IMHO. To each his own! At least we have the choice. The auto wipers are another story.....
