Looking through this form its not possible for the mirrors to fold when locking the car via the keyfob. Some peeps suggest turning the car memory on??? is this the case? Has anyone been able to use this feature?

I'd love the mirrors to fold when arming the alarn. IT would also be nice to have the windows and sunroof to close completely by holding the button for a few secs and then letting go, however at the moment I have to keep the button pressed.

Any help will be appreciated. The cars going back to BMW for them to have a look. (for free of course!)!
Its as 2004 530i build 17 April 2004.

US cars are not allowed by BMW NA to close windows sunroof (fear of being sued) or autofold the mirros. However, european e60s can close windows and fold the mirrors from the key (holding lock button). You can have your dealer program your key.

I've already been and said that it can be achieved by either turning the car mem on or programming the key. They still maintain their stance that it can't be done!

We'll see. Its going in on the 5th Sep.

Does anyone know the exact thing that needs amending on the car to sort out my issues? I reckon they didn't look at it the last time.

My mirrors don't fold down. It's part of an option (don't recall which one).

If your mirrors fold, then the key can be programmed to auto fold. You just have to hold the button down for a couple of seconds when locking the car.

If your dealers do not know how to do this get them to phone Dick Lovett in Swindon, they did mine no problem.

The windows and sunroof will not close fully on locking the car, they open or close whilst the locking/unlocking button is depressed, it makes sense, you can then control the extent of opening.
