In reading the manual, it says to turn the light switch to the left and then to push the high beam stalk toward the dash to turn it on. An indicator on the dash is to come on showing the system to be active. I've tried to make this work, but I can't. Anyone know what's up?

Where are you located? It sounds like you are talking about the high beam assist feature. Where it turns off the high beams when it detects oncomming traffic, I dont think thats available in the U.S.
Please include AT LEAST your country in your profile. It makes it difficult to answer questions not knowing where you reside. Our cars are very country specific.
P.S. its called the auto dipping feature... not dimming... dimming is when your side mirrors or rear view mirror dims so the lights from car in back isnt as bright.

I'm in the U.S. - Pittsburgh specifically. Yes, I'm referring to the purported high beam auto dimming (i.e. senses oncoming traffic and turns high beams off/puts low beams on).

it's optional
if you ordered it / if your car is equiped with it, it's easy to make it work
I myself am not sure if I like it, it allways seems to switch on and off at different moments from what I would do myself
