I'm having a problem with my Ipod not being turned off when radio button is pushed off and engine is off. Apple blames it on BMW, BMW blames it on Apple. Apple's advice is not to leave the ipod connected. That's a pain because it's buried in the lower armrest bucket.

The dashboard pushbutton seems more like a mute button for the audio system, as evidenced by the speaker icon having a line through it when selected. Has anyone figured out how to leave the ipod connected and not have it run down?

Thanks!

Have you upgraded your iPod firmware?
I've talked about strange iPod problems with my friend, whose iPod started acting strangely in a car with newer firmwares.

So maybe "downgrading" the iPod firmware could help. Or upgragind, who knows...

Thanks for the response! I am running the most current version of firmware for my ipod, and never thought of "dumbing it down" for a better result. Will try! Thank you!
btw, watched a great epsisode on tunnel construction in Finland on Netflix "Extreme engineering". Check it out.

Offtopic:
I've watched many episodes of Extreme Engineering, but I can't remember that one. Do you mean the Gotthard tunnel episode that takes place in Switzerland?
