My audio system periodically stops working . You can go into the entertainment menu and call up AM, FM CD control screens but no sound. In fact the "speaker icon disappears when this happens. THe system will work again if the car is off long enough to go into the sleep mode. It's really annoying if this happens after starting out for a long drive since you can't turn the car off long enough for it to go into sleep mode . I have the standard sound system (US spec) - is anyone else having this problem.

It's going to the dealer on Wednesday - I'll post their thoughts next week.

 

Never happened to me. Had car since June 15th.

 

I have also experience this twice, both in the first week. I mentioned this to the service manager and he recommended bringing it in for a new software install. I have yet to take it in.

I've had a similar experience two times. After starting the car, no sound. In both cases, letting the car "rest" for 15 minutes solved the problem. In these two instances, it was annoying, but not to the level to report it as I was only on the road for 15 minutes. I want to continue to monitor the situation for a possible pattern. But is looks like a software bug.

By the way, I have the premium sound system in my E60.
