I wired up my aftermarket amp to power my 2 interior subs. My set up consists of Kenwood 2ch 1000W Amp powering 2 - SWS-8 woofers. I have the ground directly grounded to the negative battery terminal and the power directly to the positive battery terminal. When I put the volume at 50% ish it works fine. When I pump the volume above that, when bass hits the subwoofers, it cuts out and if I turn the volume down it continues to work again.

I cranked the volume up and observed the amp. When the bass cuts out the amp's power light flickers and then continues to flicker every time the bass hits.

I've had this happen before with another car and it ended up being a bad ground connection. So what I did with this application was grounding it directly to the battery and power directly from the battery. Well I got no improvement. Not sure why it cuts out.

Any Ideas??? I'm thinking maybe a need a thicker power wire. Do you guys think it's a powering issue or something else?

your amp is clipping. You may need to add a capacitor to your power. Also never take the negative from the battery. Take that from the battery cable connected to the chassis.
