Good evening.

I sent my car to the shop (tranny was staying in 3rd, way longer than it should have), and to have a few other things done. When it came back, the chirp to lock no longer works... It'll chirp when you unlock it, but no chirp when it locks.

I got in iDrive, found the settings. It was on. I turned it off, then back on (kinda like Windows OS), and still- nothing...

ANyone run into this before, and if so- how did you resolve it?

He said he already did that.

Can you tell us what else you had done? At any point, did the shop hook a computer up and tinker with your ECU? There are parameters regarding the chirps, and though unlikely, it might be the reason your chirp is no longer working properly.

A good place to start is to try unplugging the alarm sensor under the hood and see if that works, If it chirps when you lock it after unplugging that sensor then that's your problem. The sensor is located in front of the passenger's side cabin filter.

the attached pic is not model specific, but that's what your unplugging. GL
