I discovered today that all of a sudden the audible and visual alerts from looking the doors were not working. The unlock chirp/light flash is working as normal. Checked iDrive, everything was still set to both audibly/visually alert for lock and unlock.

Anyone have an idea of what may be taking place? My fear is that little issues like this manifest into larger issues.

Have you tried turning the setting off in the iDrive settings, locking/unlocking the car, then turning it back on again? Have you tried your other key fob?

Is the same setting stored for "both" keys/fobs? Each key can be individualized for specific settings. So, if it's applicable for additional info refer to the "Personal Profile" page of your owner's manual or grab an on-line version from the Information page of the forum.

Also happens if doors hood or trunk isn't closed all the way.

ESexy is dah winner! I drive my car all of about 100 miles per week on average, so I'm still figuring shit out about the car from time to time.

After reading ESexy's comment I retraced my steps as to what I did different when trying to lock the ride for the last time I was leaving it that day. Sure enough, getting something out of the trunk. So I went back, opened and closed the trunk...unlocked and locked the car...problem solved.

Weird shit 'cause it was still locking the car but w/ out the light flash and audible sound prior to me checking the trunk.

Thanks to all who took the time to help.
