Hi Everyone

Here's the situation, my '04 545 is my daily driver/work car for the 20 months I've had its been perfect, apart from the pass airbag fault (fixed at the dealer in the first week)

So Auckland NZ summer's day, nice and warm, in my work car park, I go to start it at the end of the day..

(As with 545's it just cranks automatically until it fires - always straight away, possibly fractionally longer on a frosty morning if its left outside which its not!)

This time however it just cranks and cranks not firing up? Weird (cue sinking feeling) so I switch it off, try again and it starts within seconds and then for the last couple of days its back to normal instant starting?

Has this happened to anyone?

Thanks
stu

It maybe your battery. If not then take it to BMW for warranty on the starter.

Not tempted to take the M5 back with you. Would be nice of some of those winding roads down south

Hi

Nearly did, NZ stopped allowing non-airbag imports about a month before I could get it on the boat!

A suzuki van is ok but not the m5 go figure...Went straight into a mint 328...then a nightmare volvo and then back to a real car!

Cheers
