Hey everone!

Just a tiny thing, but a little annoying. I just bought 520i 2004 and ashtray in it is in "open" position. When pressed even more into "open" postion, goes back to the stopper but wont close itself. I would like to take it out to see what's the problem, but don't want to start ripping it out without some sorta manual. Anyone ever had same problem? Or by any chance have a manual, how to take ashtray out step-by-step?

i can help you out how to take out the ashtray, as i replaced one myslef, but i dodnt know how to fix the issue you are having, send me your email and i can explain how to install

 

I got the same issue, but it never bothered me.. I know I'm being no help..

 

might be the spring. mine was broght dealer fixed it for free under warranty

 

Push down firmly and pull towards yourself. Have this problem right now and that's how I cure it.
