Several weeks ago on a business trip to San Diego my windshield was craked by a rock and someone took a gouge out of my hood while parked. Well, today I take the 535 on a business trip to Pasadena. All was going well until the trip home when an idiot in an Accord stupidly sideswipes a freeway cone and launches it right into the front of my car. Pretty much all of the lower grill is gone, half of the driver's side brake vent housing is gone, the undertray was ripped from it's mounting screws and is hanging down and the lower grill trim bar (silver) is...well...gone. The lower bumper fascia is trashed (bent and torn) so I'm going to need a new one of those which is a single piece alll the way up to the hood (yipee). I may have to get rid of this car as it has had nothing but damage everytime I take it on the freeway.

In the meantime, anyone have a stock 2008 535i (Sport package - if it even makes a diff?) bumper fascia they want to sell? Perhaps someone who has changed out the fascia for the M-style replacement? As for the rest of the parts, anyone know a good discount BMW OEM parts dealer in CA?

Also, Rudy, if you are out there...do you have a pdf of the front clip R&R, brake cooling ducts, etc?

Sorry to rant everyone, just this is my 1st BMW and I really like this car, if only I could keep it from getting so trashed!

Call the great folks at EuroRev near LAX. They've done numerous M-Tech conversions and may have some parts available from those you may be able to purchase. Did you get any info on the Accord? Technically, this should be THEIR problem!

Sorry to hear about that! I try to be soo careful when driving and parking but there is only so much WE can do...when it's some other clowns fault it's out of our hands. Looks like you got a couple good leads though. Not interested in doing the Mtech from bumper?...would be a great time to take the plunge.

Man, that just sounds like bad luck. I got the windshield and the dent protection thing from BMW and they put that Perma plate (I think that's what it's called) up on the front of the car to save it from stone chips.

Sounds like if it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have ANY luck at all!! Good Luck with the repairs!
