Hi All,

Reading a number of forums it seems there are difference's in the Model year 06 cars depending on their build dates. Apr 05 would have the more HP engine but no start/stop button. The Sept 05 would have the start/stop button and more HP. So what else does a Sept 05 build get that an Apr05 didn't?

Thanks

I am going to look at 530i M Sport that was registered end of September therefore I guess it's likely to have been built mid to late Aug. It was more curiosity as I saw mention that the start/stop button appeared in latter MY06 builds and I just wondered what else would be different. IMHO the engine changes are more signicant than the start/stop button.

Personally, I would not want the start/stop button without comfort access. And, like you, the engine change, if any, would be the most important. I'd take a start/stop button without comfort access to get significantly more HP. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the model you mention to help with the HP issue. Sorry.

My 535d M Sport was registered at the end of September and was a September build. The differences I think are that I have the start/stop button, DSC+ (though as 535d is auto, hills start ability isn't a bonus !), trunk opening button in the drivers footwell and leather topped i-Drive controller. I don't think there's any other differences.

Why don't you like the hill start? I am sure that I wouldn't unless starting downhill with a manual so I woudn't have to have my right foot on the brake.

The bonus for the hill start is that in a manual transmission car, you don't have to take your foot off the clutch and brake at the same time and put your foot on the gas. My car is automatic, so hill starts are easy anyway !

Start/Stop button, DSC+ and chrome grill. As far as I know, that's it.
