Default anyone know how to hook up a z4 sport button on a e60 pre lci?

I bought a z4 sport button and want to install it on my e60 pre lci. I have installed the wires to pins 8 and 10 in the harness, but where do they go on the button itself to make it work? there are 5 pins on the back of the button. Any help would be appreciated; thanks!

you could just get an electrical tester and put it on the mode where it makes a sound if the 2 probes are on the same circuit and press the button and keep testing until you hear the sound. The button should make a short circuit to turn on the sport mode.

Likely three of the pins on the button are for
1. illumination
2. illumination if the "on" light
3. ground

The other two are likely the two leads that you wire up to the car.

Look for a wiring schematic for the Z4 button and you can identify what pins do what.

I have tried this but none of the combinations worked aka no beep. It's puzzling me ever since. I can't find the wiring diagram for that bloody button and I had to install a cheap button from Maplin to get it to work, but...I am not sleeping well as a result.

Can someone help?!

Thanks for taking time to reply, but my real issue is with the wiring not with my sleep. Reading between the lines next time maybe ?
