My Ride: 2005 530i upgraded to 2007 550i 12/20/06
Took delivery of 2008 M5 3/25/08 cf delete K&N filters, the rest stock.
Need vs want, is always the question. Need an e60 - no. Want an e60 -of course!
Mine sits most of the time, but when it is driven, it reminds me why I WANTED an e60

I'm 25 and in a similar situation lol
But god I love my 550i!
Sometimes I feel guilty and then I open up my garage, sit in my car and all the guilt fades away.

Kind of an interesting topic...need doesn't come into play with a lot of my purchases and of coures, BMW is right there. Best auto I've owned for many reasons. I travel and use rentals a lot so I get to experience other cars often and most of them are not very good in comparison. My daughter and S.O. think it's a little too complicated for their taste but my son wants one too! I'll purchase another, a "slightly" used one, probably like one of those that sits in the garage most of the time. I like everything about my car and that's a first.

I think it's cool that your willing to post that your dad is willing to buy you a car such as a BMW. But what it really shows is that you are responsible, and not a spoiled brat like some I have seen on BimmerForums. (Never on e60.net btw) Braging about their car, and how they are only 17 and blah blah.
Although I have no idea how old you are, it really doesn't matter, as long as you feel you are responsible enough to take on this privilege to own one, and you obviously already proved that to your dad, then I think you deserve it. and to get it over with, no you don't need it... but guess what, you will never be as happy with any other car that is cheaper than a BMW guaranteed.
This is a great opportunity for you. Take it, and don't look back. Appreciate it every day, and guaranteed no other car will make you as happy as this one will.
