After 'generally' searching several forums i cannot find a useful topic on how to remove this paticular part from underneath the hood (heck i dont even know what its called). The attached image shows the piece that lays across the rear of the engine bay, the multiple arrows are to depict that it is one entire piece. I did find a few hex screws that loosen the front of this piece but i cannot determine how to loosen the back of it (side closest to the winshield). If any one has a TIS disc and can upload a pdf showing how to remove this i would be very greatful. Or if somone has link that would be very helpful as well. Thanks in advance. My car is an 08 535i.

Not a TIS, but are you referring to the cabin filter enclosures?

Maybe this one.

Those two box shaped things are where your micro filters are, what cleans the air for your ac. The only thing holding them down are those hex screws and the thin metal piece on the edged which you pop up off it. The screws have to be turned so that the bottom part of out isn't locked, they don't actually come off.

I tried to position the arrows away from the cabin air filter housings because i already know how to remove those. Its the piece that the air filter housing sits on. It extends across the entire rear portion of the engine bay.
