Is it truly not possible though? I once found a solution here in metro Detroit (auto trans) but it required a second key. So they told me to bring a second key or have one made by the dealer. They planned to then hardwire the ignition sequence via the key + remote start computer, seemed like a smart idea/approach it just would have cost nearly $700 so I decided to pass...

I did talk to our remote start guy about getting on in my car, it is possible but he refuses to do it for liability issues. And i didn't want to have to buy an extra key.

I work at an alarm/remote start store. It is possible but you have to use a second key which most people don't want to do and it's not plug and play. We do Mercedes s550s with the plug and play and they work great. And it's actually easier than a regular car without an immobilizer. But for the BMW it's just not common to do so many of the company's dont manufacture the units being it won't sell as much as a common car like Hondas and toyotas.
