Anyone ever had a car shipped long distance?

I bought a new car from a dealer that's about 1500 miles away and it is due to be transported Friday. I'm very anxious and am concerned that it may get damaged in transport.
Someone put my mind at ease. pLEASE?!?!?!!!!

I did it three times
1. CT to AZ: moved an E28 533i and had no issues.
2. AZ to MD: moved a VW and a E34 535i and 535i arrived okay. VW had a light scratch on the door
3. VA to WA: moved a Land Rover Discovery, Toyota Van, E60 530i and all arrived okay.
All the moves were cross country moves for work and everything was well insured so I wasn't too worried. Make sure your car is clean inside and out and remove anything of value or things that can rattle around and break. The shipper will generally pickup the car on a flatbed and then put it on a transporter. They'll do the same for the final delivery and they will generally wash it. On trip #1 I had them show up with the transporter and loaded the car right there but they delivered the car filthy.

The issue is that it is being shipped from a dealer... I bought it, have never seen it, and it is going on a multiple-car carrier. It's brand new and is allegedly flawless.
Ugh.

Be sure to contact the dealer and have them send you high resolution pics of the entire exterior of the car before it ships. That way you have documentation in case there is any damage. Are you having it shipped open or enclosed?

My Ride: 2008 Silverstone II E60 M5 2012 E70 AW X5 50i Sport w/ LCI Aero Kit and Rocker Panels
I've done San Francisco to NY. I would recommend enclosed transport, not exterior. My E39 arrived a mess from all the elements. Enclosed is worth the additional money for peace of mind.

They've sent me pics. Its going to be on an open transport.
The addressing the logistics of an enclosed move takes much longer.

Unfortunately photos are somewhat limiting as to how much detail they will show. If you're really worried (and you should be) you can hire/pay (for a nominal fee) to have it inspected by an independent agent who will make a record of every detail - in and out - and provide a written report before shipping.
