That's about it.

When I see a cop and I need to scrub off some speed but I don't want either the nose to drop or brake lights to come on I use the hand brake. Unfortunately mine isn't very effective. There has to be a way to make it clamp harder. Anybody know how to adjust it?

Think it is self adjusting (Actually, they are brake shoes inside your disk)..... Need to pull harder, but I think that would look suspicious as well

If you had a BMW TIS you could get all servicing info just by entering the last 7 digits of your VIN. Handbrake adjustment is not automatic on my 545 and involves adjusting the brake shoes through a hole in the drum / disk assemblies to a certain procedure. Your car manual might suggest you should occasionally apply the handbrake to clean the brake drum surface whilst driving, I wouldn't recommend doing it for any other purpose and it certainly isn't strong enough to do handbrake turns unless it's very rusty! I have found mine to be only good for holding - certainly not good enough on its own left on an incline.

I want to know this too because I hafta pull mine all the way to the top just to keep the car from rolling when I park. Anything other than the last click and the car is rolling. In some cars there was an adjustment system right there by the lever if you remove the soft boot. But idk about these cars.

my post was not to pad my post count, easy there froggy, no need to be so quick to jump....

my reply was honest: your time, effort, and money might better be spent buying and hard wiring a radar detector.....but to each his own.....
