I hit a big pothole and very slightly dented the inside of the rim. I am going to send her in for an alignment, anybody have any problems with it?

Check the alignment yourself before sending her in --- drive on a flat road and let go of the steering wheel and see if the car veers in any one particular direction (also take note of the crown on the road, which may cause the car to veer in one particular direction, usually to the right).
There is nothing particularly noteworthy or difficult about the E60 alignment. Just ask for a 4-wheel alignment, which can run anywere from $60-100 and take up to 1 hour or so.
Good luck.

[/quote]At $1800 per set of tires $100 for a wheel alignment is not bad. I have run over a few potholes, that sounded horrible because of the low profile wheels.

If you have active steering, an alignment is considerably more complicated and should ONLY be handled by a dealer. Do not take it anywhere else if you have active steering.

2004 545i | SMG | White/Black | Sport | NAV | Logic 7 | PDC | Fold-down Seats | Adaptive Headlights | Cold Weather Pkg | Clear-again Bra | Mud Flaps | Bluetooth | Coat Hangar | Aux Input | All Weather Mats | 18"X8.5" BBS RK w/ Michelin Pilot Alpin's (winter) | New steering rack @ 1.2K & 17K miles| Software V.19.1 | B&B Exhaust (vrrrroooooommm!) <---Click.
I had two alignments (one with each steering rack). My SA told me that they are quite difficult. (The first one took a while as they didn't have the specs in yet for the Hunter machine).
I'd only have an alignment done at the dealer with cars that have Active Steering.
