been looking at a black saphire 08 520 d se and was wondering if its a very dark blue or black with blue high lights, it has a high spec and pretty low millage, so gonna try and hammer a deal out tommorow (monday)

Maybe I didn't pay attention to my paint very close up but, to me its just black with micro metallic specs.
No blue at all in this paint.

There is a blue metal flake in the paint, thus the name sapphire black.

Yeah, it's a shiny, sparkly black. In my opinion, Alpine White or Carbon/Sapphire Black is where it's at.

I've done the black cars for the past 7 years... and I am kinda bored of them.
I'm hoping the deep sea blue in my new car when it arrives will help refreshen the exterior for me.

Well, I'm speaking of non-M cars, of course. The M's tend to have some nice, exotic colors that no other model has. That Pepsi blue color (not official name, of course) on the M5s and M3s is really nice. Is it maybe Laguna Seca? I dunno. I can't be bothered to memorize colors now.
