New member here, pushing 200K (199,400). Bought it used at 147K. Fixed oil leak, new spark plugs, oil, tires, and one small coolant leak. Awesome car!

Mine is a 2004 545i with 173k on it. I've only replaced the spark plugs three oil changes, new tires. I got the car with 151k on it, got a real good deal. Researched the VIN at the dealership and found out that the PO had already handled all of the recalls and major recommended repairs. I'm glad i got it, so far its been an excellent fun car...

08 528xi, 115k miles. Car has been in the family since new, I have been driving it since 76k. Had to replace the battery after the car sat for ~3 months. Had the 100k mile warrantee. Never had any major issues. Dealer (Bridgewater, NJ) has always been great. Since going out of warrantee, spent 80 dollars on oil change, 230 on new plugs (bought from the dealer, installed myself), and 600 dollars (independent shop) on Front Brakes.
Dreading the time anything major happens like the trans or transfer case, but I'll keep hoping for the best.
Otherwise the car has never failed me and I am hoping to get it up to the 150-175 mark before trading it in on a new 4 series in 2 years.

Anyone notice that this entire thread is made up of only NA 6cyls and V8s chiming in? There were only about 2 535i guys that posted....where are the high mileage turbos? There are some '08 550s approaching 100K posted, so there has to be some 535s as well?

My Ride: Alpine White 2006 530Xi (SLD)

I have a 2006 530xi... Where do I begin? I guess, I should make two omissions firstly. One, I drive the car to the limit pretty often - this is what I love BMW for. And two, I have done loads of preventative work on it, which is key to keeping a healthy BMW with high miles.
In the five years I've owned the car, I've never been left stranded with it. First order of business was to switch from RFT tires to conventional. The list of work done to it is comprehensive, to say the least: clutch, flywheel, starter, head gasket, water pump, belt and tensioner, front axles, transfer case, coolant expansion tank, oil cooler gaskets, front bearings and hubs. Now the mods: suspension bilstein b8+H&R sport springs, short shifter, drilled and slotted rotors and HPS pads, Alpina air dam, m sport skirts, trunk finisher, Orions (worst mod EVER!!!), Dension USB/iPod interface. Tires, lots and lots of tires.
For all it's worth, I should note that I've never yet had to change a control arm or ball joint! Though I did put on new strut mounts and changed out the bushings (bushings are SUPER important!!!) I have traveled extensively in this car - it has been up and down the entire East Coast, saw the Blue Ridge Mountains and Florida Keys, drove up to Mt Washington and chilled in South Beach; countless ski trips, regular weekend getaways, camping trips and dinners in the city. Through all this, I have yet to find a better car - in my book, this says a lot. Every time I've gone to sell or trade it, I've found that I would much rather keep it and get a second car. Admittedly, my car is not for most people - it's hard, it's racy, it's been painted a few times in more places than I would have liked. And looking back at everything we've been through together, I sincerely hope I can keep it forever. After all said and done, it's an '06 530 with 118k miles on it, with virtually new internals. I'm afraid to chalk up the totals in dollars, but that has become irrelevant by now. What is relevant, is that I still love driving it, and that it drives as good as new now (even though I'm the second owner).
