The Service Advisor at my local Dealers said that I should report that the iDrive was very slow - it seems that is the usual "excuse" for a re-code.

I've read on here that "CD keeps playing after car switched off" is a good one.
Two aspects here:
(a) there's a CIP upgrade to fix this
(b) it doesn't seem to work

My dealer is pretty generous when it comes to CIP upgrades. I have had upgrades with excuses like
- The car just doesn't drive right. It is sluggish
- Lately the fuel consumption has increased
etc.
The only problem so far has been that it takes them a couple of days to upgrade. The upgrades have invariably crashed which means that the process has to be restarted.

I told them the shifts are very rough, any chance of making them smoother?
usually, any "doesn't feel right" excuse works. they upgrade CIP before getting their hands dirty.
