I have an 08 535i and my left side angel eyes are out (daytime running light). I'd like to replace it myself, and even upgrade both sides but I'm not sure which lights/ conversion kits are compatible with my car. Currently I get an error message saying my left side daytime running lights are out and I obviosly don't have a tool to reset it if I replaced it myself. I spent hours reading up on angel eyes and I can't figure out which angel eye upgrades don't give errors (and aren't super expensive). Also, I need to know if they will clear the error once I replace them. Thanks for any help in advance!

Cheapest you can get are Gp Thunder 8500k H8 bulbs...they cost $15 and will clear your error. If you want bright angle eyes you can get LED angle eyes and those cost $50 and will also clear the error. If you want the brightest and best you can get HID angle eyes which cost $150. You can contact John@motecepts for all your lighting needs.

John has the LED AEs for $50? I don't see it on his signature but I'm also looking to upgrade my AEs but would love a totally error-free install. Also not too expensive

No, I bought my car with 54k (warranty expires at 50k). I thought it was a smart move and would save me a couple grand because after all, it's an 08. But I've learned my lesson and will never buy a BMW out of warranty again. I've already pumped in $3,000 to fix random problems.

Thank you. Do you have the specs for the HID angel eyes?

REgarding upgrade - If you are after LCI the only option is HID.

Curious: what repairs were needed at around 54k miles that cost $3,000?

About one month after we bought the car the battery died and left my wife stranded- replaced battery for $400. A couple weeks later the shift control module went out and left me stranded (I parked in a handicap stall and ran into a store, just to come out and not be able to get it out of gear- EMBARASSING!). New shift control module plus install = $1400. While getting the shift control module installed the mechanic told me my front stabalizer bar needed to be replaced and my oil pan was leaking. I had another mechanic look at it and he was right. I called the dealer that I bought it from and he took it to his mechanic and split the cost with me which was = $1400 out of my pocket. I was sick to my stomach at the choice to opt of the getting the warranty but I've never used a warranty on a car before. Oh well. Live and learn.
