Hello all, I am trying to install a scosche ipod modulator and I need to tap into the factory antenna, where is this antenna wire? I see three wires from the sharkfin but which one is am/fm? and do they all lead to the trunk? or to the dash? Please help.

Take a picture of the wires on the rear of the CCC unit and under the sharkfin. There should be black, violet and blue connectors.

What year and make is your car?
Does the car have Navigation or is pre-wired for NAV?

You may have an antenna on the rear of the CCC(stereo) unit that does not connect to the sharkfin due to your setup. It may connect to the bluetooth or another module in the trunk's left (driver side) quarter panel under the trunk liner just above the tire. You may have to disconnect this and IF prewired you may find another male/female connector hiding in a piece of "BMW velcro cloth" and you'll bypass that unit and plug the two in so that it goes from the CCC directly to the sharkfin, or whatever you're connecting to the farthest end.

They should be as follows: CCC(stereo/computer) --->bluetooth/sat module ---> sharkfin

So you should probably hook them up CCC ---> Sharkfin

If you're tapping into it, i assume you know what you're doing and that you should "Y" it out in a professional manner so there is no interference.

It is a 2005 545i with navigation and logic7 setup if that makes any difference.
