I don't want to make things fit, ie use spacers. Not keen on spacers between hubs and wheels etc! I think I'll just have to keep looking to find the correct size genuine items. I've also got my eyes on a set of 18" flat spoke (7 spokes 245/40/18), but not too sure if they'll look that great??? Attachment 90500

Any thoughts??
I happen to like 123s.

Thanks for the tyre info, these are the wheels in question that are I think style 166 which is why I like them so much! I don't think they're 11 years old! I'm sure they'd look great on my mystic blue E60 and not many sets like these seem to turn up!?!? So undecided!!!
If these are the wheels you were talking about in the OP, then they are definitely NOT 7-series rims from'97. These are the M5 166 rims, assuming they are real. They look OEM to me, from the pics, but your offsets you mentioned don't jive with OEM. I am a bit confused.

Anyway, get the 19" 166's (even if you have to find real ones elsewhere)....will look SO much more aggressive than some ordinary 123's (no offense to those who ride on these).

+1. I like 123s (and have them as my winter wheels) but they cannot hold a candle in the looks department to the 166s.

Do you have the standard suspension or the msports ?

I've recently changed from 17" to 18" and i have a standard (sports) suspension, not the msports. The ride and road noise definately got worse.
This is something you definately have to keep in mind if you set for the 19"s.

You can get the Msports 135s on ebay (18") for not much money, around ?650-?850. Genuine 19"s are far more expensive (around the ?1100-?1200) and difficult to find.

I can post a pic if you want to see how the 135s look on the car. I urge you not to get replicas!

Yeah, I don't want replicas really, I want genuine BM wheels. My suspension is just standard setup (not Msport). If you could post a pic of the 135's that would be great and help a lot. I really love the 166's but all the ones around seem to be replicas and genuine sets are REALLY expensive!! And the ones I've got my eye on have an odd offset?? I do like the 123's but am a little worried that I'll buy them and then want to change them again for something cooler!!! I'm also wary of making my car look like a drug dealers car!!! Nothings ever easy!!

Huh? 166's, 123's or 135's won't appear like a drug dealer's car. They are OEM...and classy. I do believe you'll regret getting 18's for your every day driving purposes, however.

Where are you located?

These are 18" 135's.

Sorry, didn't mean 166,123 or 135's would make it look like a drug dealers car. I meant that some of the aftermarket offerings can be a bit........ Bling! Is the ride that much harsher on 18's than my tiny 16's?

Yeah, you seemed British to me.

The ride might be harsher than what you are used to since the newer 18" tires would have a shorter sidewall, but the ride is in no way too harsh. You will get used to it. If you have bad roads with lots of potholes, then I'd recommend you stay with 18's, so as not to bend a rim.
