I found this: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...618&hg=91&fg=40
If it's not covered by the warranty, I would have to pay $283.46 + installation + tax (which is 14.5% in Vancouver) ? I guess it's better than my first assumption, I thought they had to replace this :http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...326&hg=64&fg=20

Well, just a heads up, the reason your girlfriends audi was taken care of so easily is because it was a well known problem on the border of becoming a recall for window switches and certain other interior parts peeling. I know that side pretty well
Is that paint on the hood or is your paint peeled off

I always used original BMW care products : not too expensive, working good. You are 100% sure not to have any problem !

Came back from the dealer. Got CIP 19.3. And I asked about the cost to fix this problem. He told me they would have to order a new unit which is $930.00 CAD and the wood trim is $361.00 CAD. These prices are all without labour, installation, taxes and etc... The unit must be ordered from Germany, but they have the wood trim available in Canada. He also told me they would have to reprogram the car again once the unit is installed.

Why the hell is your friend even messing w/ "liquid air freshener" in your car anyway. Did it stink to begin with?

Nothing should ever be allowed in your car that would alter the new car smell (or its gradual evolution to the combination of old leather and the musty BMW A/C smell).

My stupid friend spilled some of those liquid air refreshners on my dashboard, right on the plastic part around the TEMP control for the front passenger This morning I saw the plastic all peeled off and looking ugly and messed up I'm taking the car in for a service in two days. Will the warranty cover it? I remember I took my girlfriend's car to Audi with the same problem on the dashboard and they fixed it with no problems under the warranty.
Lucky to be over 40...
