Hi everyone, i just picked up and 05 545i and im debating on the wheel question, i'd like to get feedback on the "fake" replicas 166's
if anyone got them how did they looked like compared to oem, i previously had those replica wheels from velocity motoring and
never had any cracked or bent rims due to the hundred of potholes i hit with them.

thanks!

Dont do it.. ...the replica 166's look like crap compared to the OEM versions....trust me the wheel design is night and day from the side profile. If you must go replicas try the Miro version of the 167's....at least they look pretty close to the real deal.

If you have an opportunity to see some 166 replica up close side by side on the OEM version you will understand.

only reputable replica wheels that have been recommended are VMRs and Miros

Naaahhhh.... Go with 'em. Just shop around. There are a lot of good deals out there on OEMs.

I only go for replicas
I have the 166 and I like them.
They are not as deep as the real thing, but if you like the deepness then go for the real thing.

Its not just the depth at all. There are other major differences between replica 166 and OEM. Notice the picture above. The lip is not smooth like OEM is, the insite spoke curve is not the same, the actual curve of the spoke isn't the same, the hyper silver paint isn't the same, the inner-most lip curves up where OEM doesn't, AND the depth is not the same. If you ask me, they are so different that they shouldn't even be considered replica 166.

Nothing beats OEM 166 wheels cept the real deal and I think its because they're just unique. You don't see wheels like them anyplace else except BMW and I haven't seen a good replica yet.
