Another PDC Question

My Ride: 2006 525i Jet Black (Base + PDC)
Does anyone know how low does the PDC detect? In the manual, it tells how far does it go...I'm wondering about the detection of 'curbs'??
I found that even with PDC, I'm very conservative coz although the PDC still in the Yellow zone, it looks really really close when I look back. I would never go that close with a car w/o PDC....
