I'm so happy! I just got my vehicle registration renewal notice...

It's ONLY $911.00. I was fully expecting to pay $1200.

Now keep in mind If I lived outside the Seattle City limit I would pay about $45.00 so I'm not really happy at all.

A couple years back we all voted for $30 tabs across the state. Then the idoits in city of Seattle voted to build a monorail for $2 billion financed exclusivly with vehicle tax of city residents only .

Sorry to hear that noone, I was just wondering today what my cost will be. I have just moved back, so I don't know what the cost is in Indy/Carmel Indiana. Anyone know? The $911 cost is pretty steep to me, and I will now pray daily that mine is at least 1/2 of that.

OUCH!

And I thought California was bad (well it used to be until they chopped the value portion of the license fee by 2/3).

Wow. And I was upset about $500. Although here if you are late in registering, not only is clock running (you don't get 12 months after the date you sign up, rather you get 12 months from the date you were supposed to have signed up) but they charge you and additional 5% per month interest penalty for being late to register. Needless to say I'll never be late again.

I'm amazed that it costs that much to register a car in the US. I thought those kind of taxes were only for places like Tokyo where you had to prove you had a parking place, etc. before you could even qualify to buy a car...

In Pennsylvania, the registration is like $36 per year and I think it's the same no matter what city you live in...

I guess my $400 renewal isn't so bad after all.
