I have an LCI 525d...about one month old now. I have noticed that for the past few days, when i unlock my car with the remote at night the angel eyes do not come on anymore, which used to happen earlier.(the interior lights still come on normally during unlock)

Any clue how i can get this to start working again? Do i have to make some changes in the settings thru the iDrive? Recently my car reset itself and was made to enter the date and time all over again, not sure how or why this happened, probably this could be a reason why the unlock lights have stopped.

Thanks for the help.

Yep, there are controls for coming home lights and day time driving lights in the idrive which should give you the "angel" lights.....There are so many names for this light, some people call it spider lamps, some call it bond lights, some call it angel eyes....and god knows how many more..

I think the semi-official, defacto term at BMW is "Angel Eyes." And people still get that messed up. I've seen people refer to the "eyebrow" feature as the angle eyes and call the actual Angel Eyes halos. Which doesn't make sense because the term "Angel Eyes" was first coined when they were introduced on the E39, and the E39s don't have eyebrows.

And how nuts is it to have to use facial features to describe headlights?!

I have noticed that this feature may suddenly quit working after having used the parking light. When you go into the I-drive (center menu, vehicle, lights(?)), turn welcome light off, shut down, go into i-drive again and turn it on again. The angel eyes will again work. I've done this last week (520d LCI)

I can't check the exact menu option now, because my car is in the bodyshop. Jump a few minor scratches: back bumper will be painted after paint was taken off by a colleague, a scratch from the passenger door and right front fender will be removed, a large dent will be taken out of the driver's door, a ding from the left back door. Body shop told me that they will also take off the left front fender. Finally, there is a small piece of paint missing right in front of the shark fin on the roof (probably been there since delivery, but dealer does not own up to it) and they say it's not going to get worse. Otherwise, the roof would have to be painted, front windscreen would have to come off....
Sorry for hyjacking the topic. I don't like the Mini I'm driving now! Hopefully my baby's back tomorrow or Saturday.
