Not 100% on this but I think a new software update will make your AE's your DRL's.

yup, software update my friend

Before you go to the dealer, did you check in your idrive if you have DRL ticked? Maybe it differs if you have the box ticked from ur current status (not sure if it ll differ though, just give it a shot)

If not, the $tealer it is for software update

since your e60 is pre-LCI, the DRL's are the inner bulbs. US pre-lci e60 owners can have their dealers disable the drl function and just drive around with their parking lamps = AE's on manually.

I believe in Canada, DRL's are mandatory, so I do not think a software update will allow you control of the DRL function. Also as stated before, if DRL's are mandatory in your country, not sure if your dealer will disable your current drl's to allow you to drive with just your parking lamp/ae's on manually....

I don't think my 04 has this (DRL) function. I always run with the AE's and fogs on, looks damn wicked at dusk.

LCI's for sure have the DRL function...some pre-LCI owners say they have that function after a SW update...

Hey Gene,

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I could get a software update from the dealer and have just AE on the auto mode? Thanks, Pre!
