Chevy even had red angel eyes on their Camaro at the LA Auto Show last year!

I agree...LED is the way to go for visability. Below are pictures from an e90 thread showing off custom angel eyes that consist of a ring of LEDs. They are so close together you can't see the individual lights. In other words, it looked like Angel Eyes 3.0 on steriods.
It's funny when we start modding the original angel eyes, so I guess I'm a hypocrit. In any case, these look unreal...and a manufacturer should hop on this. As of right now, it's a custom retrofit.
EDIT: I just emailed the guy for kicks to see if it's possible to do this to an e60 headlight. Haha man o man...

that looks awesome! and if he's able to do it for the E60, let us know!! =)

The e60 has served as a template for so many cars out there. The lights, in particular, were so damn unique for 2003 it was like looking at a pissed off animal at night. In general, I have always been a fan of BMW's angel eyes. I also happen to think that the e60 headlights were the best designed headlights in the industry when they first rolled out, and I can't think of another car that has topped them in 6 years of new designs and improved technology.

So, it makes me furious when Honda's and other POSs have aftermarket halos.
Making matters worse, other manufacturers were soon to follow, and today, almost all car companies seem to have made an effort to spruce up their headlight. I may be biased, but I am positive the e60's lights were used as a reference for Audi's LED eyebrow. The Saab 9-3's attempt at a brow was half a$$ed, but disturbing none the least.

It now appears that other manufacturers are straight up copying the angel eye! The 2010 Camaro really pissed me off. Now, it looks like the new Range Rover Sport will blatantly rip off BMW as well. Then I saw the 2011 jeep Cherokee... Although I think and pray that it is the lighting or a flash, could you imagine Cherokee's in your rear view with the special ring treatment?
I'll try and post some pictures...bare with me. Just makes me so mad!
Agreed. How about Pontiac's cheap imitation of the kidney grille?

A G8, while quite fast and offering huge bang for the buck, will never be an E60 -- faux kidney grill or not.

I kinda like it when people put the fake angel eyes... it just makes me feel that much better about having the real thing. Its sort of like when people buy fake name brand stuff. You can try and walk around like its the real thing, but deep down inside you know you're faking it. I'm sure the drivers of these other cars with the aftermarket angels eyes let out a little sigh when they pass buy our E60's.

Just my opinion feel free to disagree. =)

Wow that camaro AE are superb. Love the front of that car and its just reminds me of the days when BMW used to have great frontend. I also think the camaro AE's light up in a cool manner. BMW got it right with its welcome lights when you deactivate the alarm BUT... why didn't just have it on all positions for the lights instead of JUST for the autolights position. What a load of ballocks that is from BMW.

cheers
