Hate to revive an old thread... I bought some RCA's that are twisted so that I could easily splice them. I spliced them directly into the wires coming out of the factory amp at the same location I had my LOC. The goal is to improve sound quality from the amp to my sub... fail. It's literally the same.

The sub is working, but it doesn't have anything near the quality that it once did in a different vehicle (diff radio with a sub pre-out). I'm starting to think that I could be spliced into the wrong place or something, lower Hz just don't seem to be getting to the sub. I can't say for sure because I can't measure it but I'm guessing anything lower than 100Hz likely isn't getting through. No *deep* bass (bass guitar, etc). Can someone confirm which wires I'm supposed to tap into for a standard radio? Right now I'm tapped into the following...

Left RCA = brown/yellow+ & red/white-
Right RCA = brown/white+ & red/blue-

Lower volume sounds better, as volume increases quality drops significantly. I haven't actually tipped my seats forward to see what color wires are going into the subs under the seats yet. My hope is that maybe I'm in the wires that go to my rear deck which has the bass "drop" with volume to help prevent speaker damage. Please help!

TIA!

I just found the following wiring that someone suggested from that rear amp that they used...

left + black/red
left - black/violet
right + black/white
right - black/brown

I'm not sure if this is right or not but these wires, along with the ones I reported above, are also coming out of the factory amp in the trunk. I wired the LOC back to my old location using the wires from my previous post and then wired the twisted pair RCA's directly into these wires (so now two sets of RCAs). I turned all back on using these new wires and it's pretty much exactly the same. I am clearly missing something obvious, I just don't know what it is. I have wired a good dozen other vehicles and never run into anything like this. Thanks!
