Is that really an interior that is being offered now? or is it a new one for 2005? It's kind of nice, but would be good to see in person.
how did you come upon these, and where are they from?

Hi, I have the Amethyst/Black Interior in my car in UK with Silver/gray exterior. Mine was one of the first cars that was delivered in september 2003 in the UK. The big advantage or reason for choosing this combination apart from fantastic combination of color/trim is that it is black below the doors and footwells etc. Having two kids it is a must have as even today it is spotless, despite the best efforts of my kids and their friends.. On my car the seat backs are black as well and very easy to clean after the kids rub their shoes etc on them.
The dealer still says to me that mine is the best 530D that he has seen on the road and that it is the combination he suggests to any prospective clients as they use the same combo on their demo cars after seeing mine.
The seats I have are comfort leather (big mistake- squeaking and leather rips easily on the side supports) and it was a standard color option on the E60 catalog in UK.

It's a combination that is offered in Europe but I'm not sure about the US?
I saw this combination at the bmw driving center where you can test any model and motorisation. The central arm rest is in Leather because of the exclusive leather of the seats.
I really like this combination more then the beige one. There is more contrast, and the door panels look much nicer and of better quality.
But maybe it would even look better with the dark wood in stead of the brown.
Guest_karm, can you post some pictures of your interior?
And what is the problem with your leather that easily rips on the side supports?
Is this a problem with the comfort seats?

Really, really nice. Although I would have gone for maple (anthracite), rather than poplar. Love the 2-tone effect, used to have it on my SLK (oyster/charcoal)
