If you don't exceed 18" and don't have sports suspension, the RFT's are great. Those that switch out RFT's to make their ride softer are only having to do it because of SS and Big rims.
Maybe it's because every time I drive my car I drive over 100mph that I feel a lot safer having RFT's on.

I didnt mind them. I like the added peace of mind... 19" on #166 non runflats the ride was better than 18" RFT but because of cost and comfort I would rather go non-runflat... if I got RFT for free or for dirt cheap I'll use them.

I had 18" RF's on two E60's and the ride was bad, I mean really bad.
I also have 17" RF summer tires and the ride is still hard (second set for my LCI),
with my softer winter 17" RF's I can just live.
But I can't really wait for the spring, so I can put on my fine 19" non RF tires.
About one month to go now...

I don't mind RFTs - nothing wrong in my E60 and it's ride. Maybe because I don't drive it so hard.

for all who currently use non-RFT tires, do u carry a full size spare?
or just invest in AAA?
i dont know why but my 07 550 came with RFTs and a spare in the trunk.

If you're asking, that means you've never driven an e60 without rft's .
The latest rft's are a lot better than the earlier generations (note the Dot# on the sidewall of the tyre), but non-rft's are definetely more comfortable!
The difference is especially more noticable when the rft's are more used (worn out)
