Default Am I mental to do this?

Hi guys

Hoping for some opinions here

I have a 535d M Sport at the moment which I use as my daily driver but have started a new job which allows for some more fun on the car front.

I have been thinking of buying an E60 M5 at the end of the year start of 2014 and using the 535 as the daily and the M5 as a weekend car. A few people say I am mad but others say go for it.

Opinions would be nice

Cheers

Hell...I say do it up! If you can swing the $$$ and it's not going to put you out, than why not? If you're just using it as a weekend car, you at least have your 535 for backup if something goes wrong. But, I would try to look for a LCI and newer as many bugs were obviously worked out.

+1 on all of the above. Some people can and some can't/won't. Bottom line is it's your money and you definitely can't take it with you.

HELL YES! If you can, do it. Just be careful that your M5 doesn't be come the DD.

It is your money, but since you asked. I wouldn't do it, what's the point of getting 2 used E60s. Yea, its a M5 but the F10s are already out getting ready for the LCI version. I would sell the 530 and get a F10 550. Just me.

my .2 cents..?
the idea of owning an e60 m5 is an incredible thought. however owning two e60's seems pointless. i get the daily and weekend driver aspect, but switch it up!
maybe buy the m5 and sell the 535 and buy a 3 series or something else. Maybe having two different cars would make driving the m5 on the weekends that much more satisfying.

Never miss the chance of owning an M5 !! And I am all for owning more than one car, the 530iXT is fine for sometimes, but the E39 M5 is way more fun and even more comfortable, at reasonable gas mileage. Throw in a BMW bike, and a pick up truck and you have a stable for all occasions !!

That's right, you can't take your money with you.
But that money can feed a lot of mouths. You can give to the poor, help the needy. And those actions you can take with you. The day you were born, you were guaranteed to die. It could be any moment, so don't live for the moment.
Be thankful for what you have and don't over indulge in unnecessary things.
Don't take advice from people who do not know you or your situation 100% or have nothing in common with you because that advice will be what THEY would do. Not everyone is smart.

If you're feeling charitable... you can buy me an M5...
