Guys,
I am just considering whether to include M-Kit or not with my order :'( hence two questions:
1) Is the alu cube finish - a REAL aluminium, or is it a fake?? (plastic, I mean).
2) Could someone please post here some pictures of the dashboard with the alu cube (preferably combined with grey dakota Lether - if someone has this combination).
Thanks in advance!

Take the brushed aluminum (Alu Feinschliff) instead. It looks high quality, modern, and understated. M5 has it as standard too...
I was thinking of "brushed Aluminium Shadow" as I dont like standard trim or wood. I have only seen it in the brochure - anyone got a picture

Is it really in an M5??

Have been looking thru forum for a while and don't see many positive comments about alu cube interior. This is standard on m-sports variants in Europe- Personally I think it's a bit in-our-face but I still prefer it to an of the wood options.

Went for Black Maple for exactly that reason..would have been good as a black version like I had in my 330iS

I too avoided buying a used BMW with Alu-Cube it just doesn't look right, I went for one with the grey maple and I very pleased with that choice
I bought a E61 with the "European" M-Pack which includes the alu-cube....
I had to invest an additional ~€ur 150 in order to get dark maple wood 'cause there is no way to get any sport-alu inserts!!!
A shame! either your get alu-cube or wood! and no way to negociate anything at a decent price!

didn't like the alu-cube when I first saw it and because I'd already had maple I went for the new light poplar with black interior. I love it, makes the interior feel expensive where as the maple and grey I had before, IMHO looked a bit clinical and sparse.

Alu cube interior IMO makes M5 look like a cheap toy.

I think it's a perfect quality ....plastic. Ebay - 230 Euros. Sold.

Hello, all.
Sorry, gotta disagree with the majority here. I paid to have ALU Cube installed! Thought the wood looked too "old man" for my new M Aero kit equipped sports sedan.

Yes, the trim is actually aluminum (or some un-lacquered metal finish). Speaking of which, a friend just got the brushed metal trim on his 3, and to me, it looks so bland by comparison. In contrast, I've actually had folks ooh & ahh over my interior trim, and brush their fingers over the raised cube finish. I love it.

Some pics for you, Lux... excuse the dirt.
