My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i - no mods. Pretty basic really. I mean it has tires, windows, and a sweet look, what more could a man want? Honestly, I'd like to improve the sound system mildly, and possibly find a worthy engine mod that would increase my BHP by 100 without giving an arm and a leg for. I don't think it's out there, so I'll stay stock and love driving my 530i.

So I've started preparing and tearing down my 2004 530i for an alternator replacement. I was thinking about going back and putting together some photos and such illustrating this processess, which can be used when changing your drive belt. Thoughts? Would it be worth it? Right now I'm waiting on the refurbished alternator and new drive belt, so I do have down time here.

Just had my alternator and battery replaced on Monday.

Too late for me, but others here may find it useful.

Thanks... I just fished installing the alternator. Total time installation was just under 45 mins, and that included torquing down the bots to a proper tq. settings... Really this is an easy job if you have the tools and are mechanically savoy.
