Last week I noticed a high pitch noise coming from the engine bay at idle. After reading several posts on the forum I decide to change the belts cause that seemed to be the fix for most. While changing the belts I decided to spin each pulley to make sure they spun freely. Low and behold the alt pulley spun freely but squealed like a pig. I went ahead and replced the belts since I had them but now I have to buy a pulley.....the A/C compressor to crank pulley belt was a mother to get on without the belt guide tool. Took me a little over an hour from start to finish....Anyone have this problem?.

Yes a have a tiny pip....pip....pip.....pip squeal now and then when the engine is cold. (Have been so since I bought the car, nothing more, nor less.)
I did change the two belts, the tensioner with pully and alternator pully, but the squeal is still there ):
Btw my alternator pully was also pretty worn, spunn freely for one minute when hitting the wheel.

I did also bought a new water pump but I didn?t change it at the time, because there was no free play on the pump axle or noticable wear.
Soo, it might be the water pump that squeals?

It is damn hard to hear from what component the squeal come from!

Where did you get your alternator pulley from? I went to the dealer this morning and they told me I had to buy the entire alternator in order to get a new pulley....about $700. I really think mine is coming from the alt pulley cause when I spin it by hand I hear a speaking noise. The other pulleys aren't making any noise.....hopefully
