Will Alpina make a diesel E60? They made a E39 diesel. I hope they do, hopefully they will use the 4.4 V8 which has just been uprated to 330bhp.

Has anyone driven the E39 D10? How does it compare to the 535d as they are both 3.0 twin turbo although it has less power?

I was just wondering was it the purpose of getting Alpina diesel? I mean if a person has such a fortune to buy and Alpina car than consumption and saving money on gas is not the issue right? I say this based on the fact that the main purpose of diesel engine is their low consumption = economical. Just curious....

E60525d - What are the performance figures and power outputs for the E39 Alpina D10. I've never heard of it before.

Peter530i - Diesel cars used to be all about economy, however they are so fast now the low fuel consumption is simply a bonus. I will never buy another petrol car again. If Alpina decide to produce a new diesel model IMHO it will be the only one to have over anything else in their range. The new 535d is as quick if not quicker than the e39 M5 so I'm told by those who have driven both

I know very well, I had driven very powerfull diesel before purchasing E60. As well as I know about the 535D being such a BEASTTTTT .What I mean is that it just does make sense to make Alpina diesel, racing and performace was always matter of gasoline car. Alpina BMW is unique beast as a Ferrari, I mean as to the principle of the car, so would you buy a diesel Ferrari.......???

Good link here: D10

'Only' manages 245bhp & 500Nm A 'chipped' modern 530d would give it a hard time... But it is based on the 193bhp E39 3.0d...
