My alluminium interior is a little bit different...
The latter picture by Tuga is "Alu Wellenschliff" that was available in the earlier MY's in Europe. It has been replaced with "Alu Feinschliff" (aka brushed) in the latest MY's, which can be seen in the earlier pics in the thread.
M5 has the brushed alu trim as standard. However, if you order an "ordinary" E60 with brushed alu also the trim piece below the aircon and CD/DVD slots is in brushed alu, whereas M5 has that bit covered with leather.
And BTW, the brushed alu trim feels really substantial because it is solid aluminum, and not just a thin metallic layer on top of a piece of plastic.
It looks very similar to the aluminum you can find in high-end "Porsche Design" coffee makers by Siemens.
