We should participate more in this forum. The lower engines e60's & e61's also have tips, tricks, problems, suggestions. More of these, please.

No mater what type of badge you have on the trunk, you love your BMW exactly the same as everyone else does!
How true Some crave power others don't but it is still E60 BMW

Hi, I took delivery of a 520d SE about a month ago and think its a fantastic car. I also considered an MB E-class (nothing against them), but once I'd driven the E60 the choice was simple.

It's the first diesel I've had, so nothing to compare it against, but I think the 2lt engine is great.

Great site BTW.

I finally get mine this Friday after a 10 week wait. I'm sure it will be as good as all the posts.

Hi, to all.

Great E60 and E61 forum, the best, IMHO! Hope all of you have the best ride of your lives, with BMW.

As you can spot from my signature, and with no disrespect to all the M5, 550I, 545, 535, 535D, 530, 530D, 525 and 525D owners (I only wished I could afford those!), but I wish to summon up any 520D sedan or touring owners who are members, here.

Please, gather under this thread and state your impressions about the car , problems , whatever , regarding the 163CV 520D.

Greetings,

Afterglow.
Hi afterglow and welcome to the forum.
I do not have any direct experience with the 520d but I owned a 520i and I was completely satisfied with this car. Moreover a friend of mine just got a E91 320d and he is simply enthusiastic of the car and the engine. I do not think the difference is so big.

I basically had no problem with the iDrive. The only thing is..... Test drive lasted 3/4 an hour... So hard to test all the functions. I just managed to go from Radio to Nav, without even watching the knob. I figure the rest is just practice. And if you're used to any kind of computer or cell-phone, I don't think its that tricky.
Again, to change the setting deep into the menu, it would probably be more complicated. But I don't think you have to change this everyday.
And for the rest, I just found the 520d outstanding: I must admit this will be my first bimmer.. But this car is just great......
Counting remaining days..........
