I had a service appointmet for the following:

Tire Warning on I drive was on (The Idrive Worked to warn me)
Wipers make noise
Cup Holder Broken (2nd Time)
1 Year NY State Inspection Expires this Month
15k Service
Door Un-lock Creates Motorized Noise from front of car.
And 2 Recalls (That did not Suprised Me)

What surprised me was the car Failed Inspection, The service department noticed all 4 tires from the middle to the inner threads were worn and bald, but the outer tire was fine. They said the tires are so bad that you can see inside the tire.

I was not ready to even think about new tires untill the summer so I can have a 1 1/2 year of better tires before i returned the car (3 year Lease) But now it seems I will have to buy 2 sets. THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

After speaking with the Service Manager (Who was Sympathetic and Surprised) Said they were willing to pay for two & I pay for the other two. I told him thanks for the offer but to try for 4. They will get back to me.

I know there was a member of this forum that had the same experience.
Our cars look great, but they are unperdictable.

That motorized noise when you unlock the car is probably the car's systems 'waking up' with the computer, etc and possibly its drive. It is supposed to make that sound.

It seems like the tire wear is possibly from overinflated pressure. Did they check the pressure when you took it in? Which tires do you have and how much pressure was in them?

For sure the tires were overinflated. Don't be surprised if you still need another set after next year. All of these ultra-high performance tires wear quickly...

Good luck -- hope the dealer comes through with 4 for you!!

I also have the feeling that my tires are over inflated 2.8 bars in the rear is really a lot. I have 10.000 kms on the odo and the tires do not look if they are wearing out (the actually look very good). I have now changed to wintertires so my summertires will be saved for the summer.
