Three times, including this afternoon,I parked my car, locked it,walked away and without anyone touching the car the alarm is triggered.Took it to the dealer and he recommended I double lock it(click the symbol twice) and see if it happens.Today I locked it with comfort access by touching the handle and 10 minutes later it was set off.Thoughts?

I guess your service department is trying to determiine whether or not the motion sensor was being triggered. If you lock the doors twice, the second time disables the motion sensor. Could your battery be getting low. Typically if the battery is weak and the voltage drops, your car alarm could be triggered.

Thanks. The battery was previously replaced as they said it was draining for some unknown reason.Good info about the motion sensor,I did not know that double locking disabled the motion sensor.

Hey ottawa neighbor...

If you have anything hanging off your rear view mirror.... a cross, prayer beads, a bandana, or maybe even one of those flower necklaces. The one those young girls get from spring break. (those are nice... especially the multi colour ones)

Anyway..back to topic.

They might be swinging slightly when you come to a stop, get out and alarm your vehicle. Used to happen to my 5er and 7er. Used to be walking away and my alarm would go off. Took me awhile to figure out wtf was going on.

Hope this helps

This. Sort of. A few weeks ago my alarm kept going off - all day. It had a trickle charger attached (I was away on business).

Eventually I discovered that the alarm was going off because the IBS sensor failed and the vehicle 'thought' that the battery voltage was too low. Try charging the battery or simply disconnect the IBS sensor from the negative terminal to see if it resolves the problem.
