My Ride: Gone Waiting

Hi Guys,
It seems when last time i explain my self here , i am sure most of you guys didn't understood my problem.
Here it is:
When using a/c in the car , you can switch between air recirculating or outside air.
When i switch from inside to outside air , there is a flap that's open inside the hood ( Under micro filter) it open when you select the outside air mode. Mine is not opening , but it open 5 min only after when i switch the engine is off.
My conclusion is that it is not the flap motors which is deffective .
Do you guys think that it is a software problem? OR something else.
Any of you notice that.
Thanks
Vishwen

To the best of my knowledge, there's three modes of operation
1. Recirculation (only "interior" air is forced through the system)
2. Open air (only "outside" air forced through the system)
3. Auto recirculation, based on CO2 and pollution (NOx?) - switch between 1 and 2 depending on outside air quality. This is only available with the "advanced" AC
Also, if you have "Max AC" on (push the knob to the left), then it will by default go to recirculation.
Assuming you have recirculation off and Max AC off, then as the motor is not broken it's a control problem. Either it thinks the flap is open or it's not understanding that you want it open. Have you tried to disconnect the battery for an hour or so? It's a bit lame, but it's the only thing I can think of prior to going to a dealer.
BTW - you are entirely right. I did not understand what you wanted with your first request. I still cannot help, but at least now I understand the problem.

I think it's a control problem. Whether software or hardware, I haven't the foggiest. If it happened just after a recode, then probably software. Otherwise, probably hardware. But it's not something I have seen/heard others complaining about.

I am not sure, but I think the flap is closed by negative pressure.
I had this problem once on a previous car where the flap never closed.
It could be that your flap is closed all the time, and then opens after you park, because the pressure gets back to normal then...

In my car, I can still smell the outside air even when the air recirculation button is on. The outside air is still able to enter the car even though internal air is still used. Is this normal ? Thanks
