Hello all,
Backstory: Bought a 2006 530i with 73K miles about a month ago. Car drives great but had been sitting on the lot for a year only moving about 700 miles. As a result I believe the battery is shot from the car not being used for so long, and I’ve been getting low battery warnings periodically. Two days ago my car threw an Airbag warning light called “Drivers Airbag Malfunction” in iDrive. I read the code using iCarsoft reader tool and the code for the error is 93FC Undervoltage. I hit the reset button on the tool yet the light remains. The battery was made in December 2015 but like I mentioned I think since the car only was driving 700 miles in 12 months the battery may be shot.
How do I remove this warning light? Will replacing the solve the issue or will more steps need to be taken to clear the airbag light?
thanks

hi, fellow MA E60'er, just picked mine up about a month ago as well (and mine sat for about a year too...) my battery is definitely shot, but still using in the interim. as for the airbag light, has your car done the recall for the positive cable on the battery? often times it's either that, or some people have a resistor fix though i'm not too sure if it would apply in your case.
i have the classic passenger side airbag / seat belt light which i'm intending to take to bmw under extended warranty. they will not be happy but i'm confident it'll work. there's actually a 'voluntary recall' for certain airbag issues circa last year. you might need an actual inpa / coding cable to clear the light.
